AN ACT TO PUNISH ANY PUBLIC OFFICER OR EMPLOYEE WHO SHALL OBSTRUCT, PROHIBIT, OR OTHERWISE PREVENT THE EXERCISE OF THE RIGHT OF ATTORNEYS TO VISIT AND CONFER WITH PERSONS ARRESTED
(REPEALED BY REPUBLIC ACT NO. 7438)
Section 1. Any public officer or employee who shall obstruct, prohibit, or otherwise prevent an attorney entitled to practice in the courts of the Philippines from visiting and conferring privately with a person arrested, at any hour of the day or, in urgent cases, of the night, said visit and conference being requested by the person arrested or by another acting in his behalf, shall be punished by arresto mayor.
Sec. 2. All acts or parts of acts inconsistent with the provisions of this Act are hereby repealed.
Sec. 3. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
