REPUBLIC ACT NO. 7225 - AN ACT
EXTENDING THE FRANCHISE GRANTED TO THE IGLESIA NI CRISTO TO CONSTRUCT,
INSTALL, ESTABLISH AND OPERATE RADIO STATIONS FOR PRIVATE
TELECOMMUNICATIONS UNDER REPUBLIC ACT NUMBERED FORTY-THREE HUNDRED AND
THIRTY-NINE TO ANOTHER TWENTY-FIVE YEARS

Section
1. The life of the franchise of the Iglesia ni Cristo
to construct, install, establish and operate radio stations for private
telecommunications under Republic Act Numbered Forty-three hundred and
thirty-nine is hereby extended to another twenty-five (25) years from
February 10, 1994. Sec. 2. All other provisions, terms and conditions contained in Republic Act Numbered Forty-Three hundred and thirty-nine which are otherwise not affected hereby are made integral parts of this Act. Sec. 3. The franchise hereby granted shall be subject to amendment, alteration or repeal by the Congress of the Philippines when the common good so requires. Sec. 4. In addition to the terms and conditions herein provided, the Iglesia ni Cristo, shall submit an annual report to the Congress of the Philippines on its compliance with the terms and conditions of the franchise and on its operations within sixty (60) days from the end of every year. Sec. 5. The grantee shall comply with and be subject to the provisions of a general telecommunications policy law that may hereafter be enacted. Sec. 6. This Act shall take fifteen (15) days from the date of its publication in at least two (2) newspapers of general circulation in the Philippines. * Lapsed into law on March 12, 1992 without the President's signature in accordance with Article VI, Sec. 27 (1) of the Constitution |
