REPUBLIC ACT NO. 2303 - AN ACT
PROVIDING FOR THE MAINTENANCE AND OPERATION OF A GENERAL HOSPITAL IN
ORMOC CITY TO BE KNOWN AS THE ORMOC GENERAL HOSPITAL AND AUTHORIZING
THE APPROPRIATION OF FUNDS THEREFOR |
Section
1. There is hereby established, under the Bureau of
Hospitals, a twenty-five-bed general hospital in Ormoc City to be known
as the Ormoc General Hospital, which shall be under the management and
supervision of a chief who must be a physician of good repute, a
graduate from a medical college of recognized standing and has been
engaged in the practice of medicine for at least five years. The chief
of said hospital shall be appointed by the Secretary of Health upon the
recommendation of the Director of Hospitals, and shall receive a
compensation of not more than six thousand pesos per annum. The Chief
of the Ormoc General Hospital shall have all the powers generally
conferred on directors of government hospitals.
Sec. 2. The Chief of the Ormoc General Hospital
shall have authority to promulgate, with the approval of the Director
of Hospitals, such rules and regulations not inconsistent with law, as
may be necessary to secure the efficient administration of the hospital
and the proper enforcement of laws relating thereto. Sec. 4. The sum of eighty thousand pesos is hereby authorized to be appropriated, out of any funds in the National Treasury not otherwise appropriated, for the operation and maintenance of the said hospital for the fiscal year nineteen hundred sixty: Provided, That no amount to be appropriated will be released unless the Secretary of Health certifies that a suitable hospital building is available. Such sum as may be needed for the same purpose in subsequent years shall be included in the annual General Appropriation Acts.
Sec. 5. This Act shall take effect upon the date
the funds authorized herein to be appropriated shall have been provided
