PRESIDENTIAL DECREE No. 1625

FURTHER AMENDING SECTION 1 OF REPUBLIC ACT NO. 2087, ENTITLED "AN ACT GRANTING LIFE PENSION AND FRANKING PRIVILEGE TO WIDOWS OF FORMER PRESIDENTS OF THE PHILIPPINES"

By virtue of the powers vested upon me by the Constitution, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, do hereby order and decree:

Section 1. Section 1 of Republic Act No. 2087 is hereby further amended to read as follows:

"Section 1. The widow of any former President of the Philippines shall be entitled to a life pension, tax free, of ninety six thousand pesos annually, payable at the rate of eight thousand pesos monthly, if such President was not removed by impeachment: Provided, That if such widow of any President re-marries shall lose the benefits of this Act."

Sec. 2. All laws, decrees, rules and regulations inconsistent with this Decree are hereby repealed, amended, or modified accordingly.

Sec. 3. This Decree shall take effect immediately.

Done in the City of Manila, this 13th day of June, in the year of Our Lord, nineteen hundred and seventy-nine.
